Little Buddhas Yoga is offering this amazing Performing Arts Camp including acting, script reading, singing, dance (lyrical/contemporary, ballet, improvisation, hip-hop), gymnastics & personal development including Yoga & Journaling (creative writing, setting intentions, arts/crafts, & building time). This Unique & one of a kind Summer Camp provides an opportunity for your child to experience personal growth through movement of all kinds while learning to act.

Directors

Our Staff, Marie Patterson (12+ yrs. teaching) & Mary E. Wright (28+ yrs. teaching) have an extensive background of working with children, teaching, and being mothers themselves. Marie Patterson has recently directed/produced "Annie' & "Peter Pan" with a cast of over 30 members, ages 5-12. Her background is theatre and dance. Ms. Marie's speciality is teaching dance of varies technique to all ages (babies to adults) as well as inspiring others with a love of the Performing Arts. Her focus is teaching movement, acting, and sparking a fire in kids to learn to act and move.

Mary E. Wright has taught Fun & Tumble Gymnastics to children of all ages (crawlers to the competitive gymnasts) for many years. As well as Children, Adult and Family Yoga. She currently owns Little Buddhas Yoga Studio and teaches Yoga, Pilates, Power Plates (whole body vibration classes), TRX & Gymnastics. She specializes in Private Lessons as well as group Classes. Ms. Mary's biggest desire is to help others and to create families that flow together both on and off their mats.

Ms. Marie & Ms. Mary's combined experience & energies will propel your child to learn, grow, & flourish through our Performing Arts Camp. At Little Buddhas Yoga we plan to exceed all expectations and allow your child grow to their fullest potential! There is no limit to what can happening during this amazing summer! We look forward to meeting you all!

Class Descriptions

Moving Buddhas lesson will entail learning about Hip Hop, rhythm, and funky grooves! Kids will learn to groove appropriately to the newest hippest songs. We will be teaching techique, break dancing and choreography while connecting to different rhythms.

Script Reading & Singing Buddhas will introduce theatre script reading, acting, and singing to major Broadway Acts. Familiar songs will be chosen to help vocalize and harmonize the children's individual sound. Children will be encouraged to expresses themselves through acting, performing, & singing. They will learn how to create and transform into their characters. 

Moving improvisation (Improv) is a chance for your child to express themselves freely through dance and song with limited guidance. With a structured environment we allow the class and students to be free and express themselves in movement. 

Inspired Buddhas is a lesson focused on quiet interpersonal reflection. These activities may include coloring, and drawing, and introduction to journaling (writing their personal thoughts).  We will introduce inspiring thoughts, quotes, as well as listening to inspirational talks to spark the young inspired minds. 

Lyrical Dance will consist of movement that allows the students to express the meaning to the songs. It is a blend of techique, movement and across the floor to learn and work on skills with a musical touch. 

Little Buddhas Yoga is a Vinyasa Style Yoga class for children of all ages. Class is structured very similar to an Adult Class yet tailored age appropriately. Children are taught sequences, as well as holding traditional poses, and encouraged to engage and interact with one another for a fun Yoga Flow. Strengthening, increased flexibility, breathing techniques, guided and silent meditations are all part of a daily practice.

Fun & Tumble Gymnastics is an all levels gymnastics class for children of all ages. Beginning tumbling skills are introduced while strengthening and conditioning are incorporated in class. Children will learn how to safely execute forward and backward rolls, handstands & cartwheels in a fun and safe environment. Students already skilled in fundamental skills will be challenged and continue on improving their skills. For the more experienced gymnasts progressive skills are taught to encourage proper execution of all skills.

Ballet is the center of all dance and will be incorporated in this program. Variations, techniques, movement, barre and the basics to train the child's brain, memory and muscles for all dance class.

Arts & Crafts will be age-appropriately themed to engage the mind while having fun. Child will learn how to develop craftsmanship skills and will be exposed to how to create projects with the different materials. 

Building Buddhas is a quiet mind stimulating time for children to create with blocks, Legos, and/or magnetic building blocks. We offer a peaceful space to work indivudually or within a group structure allowing time to create and imagine. 

Flowing Buddhas is free movement and flow time to express your day. Gentle stretching, breath awareness and mindfulness. Meditation will be introduced and expanded upon.
